2015 Scholarship Policies and Procedures

Purpose:  To help Candidates defray the cost of pursuing the CCIM designation and to encourage participation in Kansas City Chapter activities and committees.

Scholarships Awarded:
There are four (4) scholarships available for 2015.  Allen J. Block Memorial Scholarship, CCIM Kansas City Past President Chapter Scholarship, Walt Clements Scholarship, and CCIM Institute On-Line or Classroom Scholarship.  Scholarship amounts are $1,000 to a full class.
Travel Expenses:
     Any travel will be at the scholarship winners’ expense.
Important Dates:

  1. Applications due September 30, 2014
  2. The Candidate Guidance Committee summarizes the applications, interviews candidates and presents to the Board.
  3. Winners will be announced on December 1, 2014.
  4. Scholarships are payable during the following calendar year.
  5. Scholarships must be used during 2015 calendar year or forfeited.
Requirements for Scholarship Applicants:
  1. Member of the CCIM Kansas City Chapter.
  2. Practice of commercial real estate or related discipline.
  3. Committed to obtaining the CCIM designation.
  4. Committed to the code of ethics promulgated by CCIM Institute.
  5. Commitment to attend chapter meetings and participate on a volunteer committee for coming year.
  6. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own travel expenses.
Required with Application:
  1. Resume.
  2. Submit a completed scholarship application.
  3. Recommendation letter from the applicant’s broker or direct supervisor.
Candidate Selection Considerations:
  1. Scholarship is not need based.
  2. Chapter membership, committee volunteer participation and regular meeting and networking attendance is given positive consideration.  
Requirement to receive Scholarship monies:
 Submit document confirming successful completion of course.
